Sustainability Intelligence.
When I began working with Cortex Building Intelligence, my goal was to build a visual identity that felt as innovative and grounded as the company itself. Cortex was born from founder Bryan Bennett’s unique perspective and was shaped by over a decade of energy-tech experience and a family legacy in commercial real estate. I wanted the brand to carry that same balance of vision and practicality.
At the heart of the new identity is a refined primary mark that communicates clarity and confidence, paired with a secondary icon system that gives the brand flexibility and adaptability across platforms. These elements were designed to be instantly recognizable while leaving room for growth as Cortex continues to evolve.
The updated color palette was developed to reflect both energy and trust, balancing bold, modern tones with grounded neutrals. The visual styling brings everything together through a system that feels clean, accessible, and highly functional. These are qualities that mirror the tools Cortex provides to building engineers.
This identity was not about creating decoration. It was about designing a visual system that embodies Cortex’s mission: equipping building teams with solutions they can actually use to advance efficiency and sustainability goals. Every detail was considered to help tell that story with clarity, purpose, and impact.
