While the reverence for the LHM legacy remains deeply ingrained, this marks the beginning something new—one filled with fresh opportunities for excitement, growth, and expansion under The LHM Company umbrella. It's All About Corazon.
When Miller Sports + Entertainment approached me about developing the visual brand identity for Béisbol en Salt Lake, I knew immediately this was more than just creating a logo for an exhibition series. It was about honoring a culture, a community, and the energy that baseball brings when it is woven into celebration. The event brought two iconic Mexican baseball teams, Los Venados de Mazatlán and Los Charros de Jalisco, to Smith’s Ballpark in October 2024 for Hispanic Heritage Month. The brand needed to live at the crossroads of Salt Lake City’s passion for sport and the vibrant traditions of Mexican baseball.
The primary mark was built to be bold, festive, and unmistakably tied to the rhythm of the game. It carries a sense of motion and excitement while grounding itself in a visual language that speaks to heritage and pride. I designed a supporting system of icons and graphic elements that could flex across signage, digital promotions, and in-ballpark experiences, creating a consistent but celebratory identity.
The color palette drew inspiration from both the energy of Hispanic cultural expression and the authenticity of the game itself. Warm, saturated tones paired with strong, contrasting accents give the brand a sense of life and joy, while still holding up in professional sports contexts. The visual styling aimed to feel both rooted in tradition and fresh enough to welcome new audiences to the experience.
Ultimately, the identity was about creating a sense of belonging. It honored the cultural story behind the event while giving Salt Lake fans a chance to feel the unique joy of Mexican baseball. For me, that is the power of design in sport — to connect people, celebrate heritage, and create moments that last long after the final pitch.
